18th Hole

With nerves bound to be a factor by the time the players arrive at this point, it will be something of a relief to see a relatively forgiving hole in front of them. Still, that presents its own challenges. With birdies and possibly even eagles in play, the winner will have to finish strongly.

With a scoring average of 4.743 so far this week, birdies have come often at the last but are no guarantee. A lengthy 574 yards in total, the 18th is long enough to defend itself if there are any missteps for the players en route to the green.

A partially blind tee shot will have to avoid the sand around a heavily bunkered fairway, while in approaching the green with a second or third shot, players will have to be wary of the right hand side of the green which filters into a valley that has been a popular spot through the first three rounds.
