Chesson Hadley is back as a full-time PGA TOUR member in 2017-18, and he is on FIRE. After losing his card in 2015-16 (Hadley finished 159th in the FedEx Cup), Hadley attacked the Web.com Tour schedule, winning twice and racking up six top-tens in 19 starts.

Hadley followed his most recent win at the Albertsons Boise Open with a runner-up tie at the DAP Championship the following week. That run put him in a position where the Web.com Tour Championship wasn’t quite as important, so we’re looking past that week’s T46 finish.

Hadley wasted no time breaking in his fresh TOUR card this season, and he’s carried every bit the momentum he gained in the Web.com Tour Finals over to “the show”. Hadley did elect to skip the “Asian Swing”, and perhaps that’s the edge he was looking for.

Hadley is running as well as anybody could without actually breaking through for the win. In his three starts so far, Hadley hasn’t finished any worse than fourth, and he was the solo runner up two weeks ago at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

This will be Hadley’s second crack at Mayakoba, after missing the cut in the 2013 edition of the event. Frankly, that hardly matters at all when you look at how Hadley’s been playing. We’re riding the hot hand until he proves he’s not on top of his game anymore.
