Jordan Spieth Hero World Challenge
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – NOVEMBER 24: Jordan Spieth of the United States plays his tee shot on the 16th hole during day two of the 2017 Australian Golf Open at the Australian Golf Club on November 24, 2017 in Sydney, Australia. (Photo by Mark Metcalfe/Getty Images) /

Expectations for Jordan Spieth remain at an all-time high. Want some proof? Look no further than the Australian Open. He finished solo eighth in Sydney, and it was widely viewed as a disappointing week Down Under. Granted, the field depth wasn’t exactly a top-notch field, but when a top-ten is a letdown, you’ve got something good going.

This week at Albany, Spieth will look to build off an already-strong resume at the Hero World Challenge. In his 2014 tournament debut at Isleworth, Spieth set the tournament scoring record, both in aggregate (262) and score to par (-24). In the past two seasons at Albany, we’ve seen much of the same, as he finished solo fourth (-20) and tied for sixth (-11). It’s clearly a course, like so many others, that fits Spieth’s eye, and that will work in his favor this week.

If nothing else, Spieth will have plenty of motivation from the field around him this week. From good buddy Justin Thomas to a seemingly healthy Tiger Woods, Spieth will look to have a ton of fun this weekend in the Bahamas. Look for that to translate to even more success as he wraps up another solid year for 2017.
