After reeling off three wins in a row in the fall, Rose nearly won again last week at the Valspar Championship on the way to a T5.

The 37-year-old has kept his early 2018 schedule light, but he’s working to peak for Augusta.

Coming to Bay Hill is a good place for Rose to summon his best work. While still winless at the API, Rose has a runner-up, three more top-10s and three more top-25s.

Rose was fourth on Tour last season in approaches from 150-175 yards and 38th from 200-plus. This season in a limited sample size, Rose is 37th and seventh, respectively. His wedges have been spot on if he can get to a comfortable number. He’s first from 100-125 yards but 192nd from 75-100.

The driver could use some straightening out, but that should come in due time for Rose. He’s a consistent threat to win wherever he plays, and Bay Hill is certainly no exception.
