European Tour: South African Open Power Rankings

Finishing just 12 points ahead of Sullivan on the 2019 Race to Dubai leaderboard was Belgium’s Thomas Detry, who came home in 42nd for the overall campaign last time around.
Having featured at the AFRASIA BANK Mauritius Open, where he ended the week with a top-five finish, Detry finds himself in 17th on the Race to Dubai list in the early running, and he carried his good form into the Thailand Masters in the week before Christmas.
Although not sanctioned by the European Tour, the Belgian came home with a T2 finish in Pattaya, only falling short to Jazz Janewattananond.
In only his third full season on the European Tour, Detry started to make his breakthrough, with top ten finishes at two of the last four events of the 2019 campaign.
The Belgian finished inside the top ten at both the Amundi Open de France and the Nedbank Golf Challenge, as well as also reaching the same mark in both the Trophy Hassan II and the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters earlier on in the season.
Detry comes into this event in good form and has also played more frequently than the majority of others in the field, having partaken in the Thailand Masters, which finished on December 22nd. He will be looking to continue that run of good play into the start of the new decade.
