The man coming in at 10th on our Power Rankings ahead of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic is the 2007 champion of the event, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson.

‘The Iceman’ secured his fifth European Tour victory that week in Dubai, as he finished at -19, one shot clear of the field, keeping Ernie Els from winning what would have been a fifth ODDC title.

The Swede, who has scored 11 points across five Ryder Cup appearances, three of which Europe have won, has since won a further six European Tour titles, including the season-ending DP World Tour Championship twice, and the British Open Championship, his maiden major victory, in 2016.

Stenson last featured on the Tour at the DP in November but has since featured on both the PGA TOUR and the Asian Tours since. His appearance on the PGA brought about a victory, as he won the Hero World Challenge, winning by a single shot from Jon Rahm.

Along with his victory at this event in 2007, the Swede has also finished runner-up as well, doing so in 2017 to another experienced Ryder Cup star, in Spain’s Sergio Garcia.

This may be his first appearance on the European Tour this season, but the Swede is playing some good golf and is back inside the top 30 on the Official World Golf Rankings. Could he become the fifth multiple-winner of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic come Sunday afternoon?
