American Bryson DeChambeau is the reigning champion of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, with his victory in 2019 being his fourth in the space of five months across both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR.

His win in Dubai last year was a record-breaking one, as he finished with a tournament-low score of 264, at 24-under-par. DeChambeau won the event by seven shots, also a record margin.

It was his fourth victory in nine events, having finished inside the top 20 in each one, with success also coming at the Northern Trust, Dell Technologies Championship, and the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, all on the PGA TOUR in the back end of 2018.

There were no other wins in 2019 to go with the ODDC triumph for the American, who made his way up to World No.5 after his win in the desert 12 months ago.

He did have five other top-ten finishes, including a runner-up result at the 3M Open. DeChambeau also came home in a tie for 6th at the Saudi International powered by SBIA, Travelers Championship and TOUR Championship, the PGA TOUR’s season-finale in August 2019.

The American may not be in the greatest form of his life, but he still stands inside the top 20 on the Official World Golf Rankings, and as the defending Omega Dubai Desert Classic champion, he has an affinity with the venue. Could he become only the second man to win this title back-to-back on Sunday?
