Well, after Phil Mickelson missed the cut at the Crown Plaza Invitational, golf fans wondered if there would be enough excitement to make the tournament worthwhile on the weekend. That question was answered by Zach Johnson, who put on amazing show on Saturday and Sunday, and picked up the victory at Colonial.

The Crown Plaza Invitational gets underway this morning at Colonial,, where Phil Mickelson leads a great field, and many of them are hoping to start building momentum for Pebble Beach in a few weeks. Here’s your TV schedule for the week:

Another week, another set of predictions here on Pro Golf Now. Last week, I so confidently declared that J.B. Holmes would win the HP Byron Nelson Championship…..and then he proceeded to finish tied for 43rd. This week, I hope for better results as some of the best players in the world head to Fort Worth for what is always an exciting tournament at Colonial. So without any further ado, let’s predict!

Reports coming out this morning that Tiger Woods will be playing next week’s Memorial Tournament, which may come as a little surprise, considering that he left the Quail Hollow Championship early with a neck injury.

Jason Day has won this week’s Byron Nelson Championship, after a final round 72, which gave him the two-shot victory in Dallas. So why doesn’t he get the headline above? Oh I don’t know, perhaps it’s because a 16-year-old was only three shots off the lead in the final round. That doesn’t exactly happen every week. So golfing world, it’s time to welcome Jordan Spieth to the scene. Because this kid looks like he’s here to stay.

So yeah, I had to be totally cliche up there. But it’s true. Regular visitors of the site will notice that the design has received a complete overhaul…..and well, it’s totally freakin’ sweet! The entire FanSided network has been undergoing new design changes, and early this morning, it was PGN’s turn…..

The HP Byron Nelson Championship gets underway this morning in Dallas, and although this tournament hasn’t attracted many of the top players in the world, it should still be a fun weekend of golf. Hunter Mahan is the favorite, but did I pick him to win? You can find that out in my predictions for the week.

After almost picking up a nice win on predictions last week, with my choice of Charley Hoffman as the winner (had trouble on the final few holes), I enter this week’s predictions with confidence. So let us bring on the HP Byron Nelson Championship, and let’s see if we can find a winner for this week’s event in Dallas.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Adam Scott in contention on Sunday. Actually, it’s been a while since we’ve seen Scott even play close to his best golf. But nonetheless, after a very forgetful 2009 season, Scott made his resurgence be known today, as he held off Fredrik Jacobson by a shot to win the Valero Texas Open.

Ladies and gentlemen, here are your TV times for this week’s Valero Texas Open. This might not be the most star-studded field, but there promises to be some great golf played this weekend, as Zach Johnson looks for his third straight victory at the event.

Not much hype this week in the golf world, as the Valero Texas Open field doesn’t contain very many big names. But weeks like this are where the young guys step up and make themselves known on tour, so there’s plenty of reasons to watch the action this week in Texas.

This is certainly not the kind of story I wanted to return with here at Pro Golf Now, after being away the past week due to a massive flood around the Nashville area, but we’ve got some bad news to pass along in the golfing world. Erica Blasberg, a player on the LPGA Tour, has passed away at the age of 25.
