I’m not sure if the Robertsons(Duck Dynasty) made the trip from West Monroe down to New Orleans for ProAm Wednesday at The Zürich Classic of New Orleans, a little duck hunting,  or a Dufnering lesson, but it looks like they got it all in. Brothers, Willie and Jase Robertson teed it up with 2012 Masters Champ, Bubba Watson at 8:00 AM, but had time during the 5 1/2 hour rain delay to get in a little Dufnering.

During the rain delay, Bubba and his bearded buddies from A&E’s hit reality show, Duck Dynasty, entertained reporters, and fans alike from the back porch of the clubhouse. Their appearance at the golf tournament coincided with the airing of the shows season finale on Wednesday night where the entire family goes on vacation to, where else? Hawaii.

Bubba, who is from the nearby Pensacola area met the Robertsons on Social Media, and they have been great friends ever since.

"“He’s the greatest,” Jase said of Watson, the 2012 Masters champion and winner of the 2011 Zürich Classic. “He’s a legend,” Willie added."

It’s been a whirlwind year for Watson since he won the 2012 Masters, and the 34 year-old indicated this trip to New Orleans was a great opportunity to get re-energized for the season. Last year, he was a new father and two weeks removed from his Masters victory when he came to the Crescent City, and finished T 18 in defense of his 2011 title.

Since his win at the Masters, Bubba has not fared well on the golf course. There has probably been to many distractions with the new child, the television interviews, and making hit movies like Golf Boys 2. Maybe it’s time for him to get back to work at what has brought him all of the fame, and notoriety. Winning golf tournaments.

Since the 2013 season got underway in Hawaii, Bubba Watson has played in seven tournaments, and finished in the top ten in only two of those tournaments. His T 9 at The WGC-Accenture was an out before the quarter finals, and he finished tied fourth at the season opener in Hawaii. He missed the cut at The Northern Trust Open.

"“I was tired last year,” Watson said. “But I feel good this year. This is the closest tournament to my home in Pensacola (Fla.), so friends and family come in. It’s a good time here, good food. When I get here I get energized.“I won here two years ago, so I’m pumped up to play this golf course. I want to perform well. So now I got to figure out a way to beat some of these guys this week.”"

After donning his Green Jacket last year, and his T 18 in The Big Easy, Watson missed two cuts in a row that included the US Open where he said in an interview afterwards, that the golf course at The Olympic Club didn’t fit his eye. He picked up a T 2 at the Travelers, then went on a run of mediocre finishes that only included one top ten, that coming in the Barclays at the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

He missed the cut at The Deutsche Bank before finishing T 5 In the season finale at The Tour Championship in Atlanta.

Not only did the Robertsons get to play golf with Bubba Watson, who won at TPC Louisiana in 2011, they were treated to a “Dufnering Lesson” from 2012 Zürich Classic Champion, Jason Dufner. Dufner won here last year in a playoff with Ernie Els.
