Here are five key groups to watch at the 2017 Travelers Championship from TPC River Highlands, this week’s stop on the PGA TOUR.

The Travelers Championship is back where it belongs. After having to move the event to August a season ago to accommodate the crazy schedule surrounding the Rio Olympics, the PGA TOUR event once known as the Greater Hartford Open (and for a short time the Buick Championship) returns to its normal slot following the U.S. Open.

The Travelers Championship annually boasts the second-largest attendance of the PGA TOUR season, trailing only the party that is the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and spectators will have a number of top players to follow this week. Three of the top six players in the Official World Golf Ranking, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, are in Cromwell this week to try and knock off defending champion Russell Knox, who won this event last year by a single stroke over Jerry Kelly.

Also in the field this week is Jim Furyk, who scorched TPC River Highlands in his final round last year with an incredible 12-under 58, the only 58 in PGA TOUR history. He’ll be playing alongside McIlroy and U.S. Open co-runner-up Brian Harman in the first two rounds.

The Travelers Championship was first played 65 years ago and has quite the list of champions, ranging from Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper and Lee Trevino to Paul Azinger, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson. The most wins at this event belong to Casper with four and there are six players who have won this event twice, including Mickelson and Bubba.

156 players will be looking to join this great list of Travelers Championship winners and here are five groups in the first two rounds that may contain that champion.
