Who will be victorious in the Irish Open’s maiden trip to Portstewart Golf Club?

The Irish Open is this week’s event on the European Tour schedule in its halcyon stretch of big events lead ing up to The Open Championship in two weeks.

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation is the second straight Rolex Series event, featuring bigger purses and more elite fields as a result.

Four of the world’s top 20 are headed to Portstewart Golf Club in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, including No. 2 Hideki Matsuyama and No. 4 and host, Rory McIlroy. In comparison, the PGA TOUR’s Greenbrier Classic is without a top-20 player (No. 21 Patrick Reed is the highest ranked).

Portstewart is hosting the Irish Open for the first time. The Strand Course at Portstewart is a links style track that plays to a par of 72 at 7,118 yards. It hosted the 2014 Amateur Championship.

Let’s see who has the best shot to hoist the crystal trophy on Sunday.
