Looking over the pairings for this week, my eyes quickly adjusted to the group I want to watch. It wasn’t the group with the top 3 in the FedEx Cup points either. It was the group of Phil Mickelson, Gary Woodland and Bubba Watson. Ya think the ball will go a long way with this trio? Methinks so. They start tomorrow on #1 at 11:48 AM and on #10 at 10:42 AM on Friday.

Don’t think just the guys have interesting pairings this week, The ladies have numerous pairings that grab your attention. A curious one is that of #1 Yani Tseng, Morgan Pressel and Sandra Gal. They go off on Tee #1at 8:40 AM on Thursday.
But that’s not the group I’m interested in seeing. As weird as you might think it is, it’s the group starting at Tee #1 at 8:07 AM. The pairing is Vicky Hurst, Amanda Blumenherst and Ryann O’Toole. If you checked out my post from the other day, I have a degree of concern about Hurst and O’Toole. They have both missed the last two cuts. Coincidentally, those are the two tourneys since the announcement of the Solheim Cup team. With that competition just around the corner, I am willing Hurst and O’Toole to do well.
Nationwide
Albertson’s Boise Open Presented by Kraft
Defending Champ: Hunter Haas

TV (all on the Golf Channel)
Thurs: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Fri: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

With the end of the season fast approaching, the drive for the top 25 begins to kick up a bit more now. You naturally will look toward the lower portion of those currently in…and out…of the standings. Those “last five” are Daniel Chopra, Brenden Pappas, Garth Mulroy, Jeff Gove, and Matt Every. The “next five” are Tommy Biershank, Will Wilcox, Matt Davidson, Richard H. Lee, and Steve Friesen. With this in mind…
People will want to see John Day who is in the field this week (who’s paired with Dicky Pride and Tim Wilkinson for the first two rounds). While I do like Daly, I’m looking elsewhere. The “big” pairing (in my ever so humble opinion) is that of Erik Compton, J.J. Killeen (who sits atop the top 25) and Jason Schultz. They begin from Hillcrest Country Club at 8:40 AM tomorrow on tee #1.

The race for the Charles Schwab Cup kick back into gear this week…over in Korea. Got to get up early to catch the coverage. Looks like Golf Channel might be running a repeat for those that won’t be able to stay up until 3 AM any of the three days of the tournament.
The pairings as of the writing have not been released on PGATOUR.com, so I can’t find who and where and when I’ll be viewing.
