On Thursday morning, 123 of the worlds best golfers will tee it up for the first leg of the 2013 FedEx Cup Championship. Two players of the top 125 on the list will be sitting out the first round. Zach Johnson is attending his brother’s wedding, and Steve Stricker(no, he’s not Tiger Woods’ putting coach) is taking some me time with his wife, and part-time caddie before he goes to work at the Deutsche Bank next week. At the end of the road is a check for $10 Million Dollars, and an entire year to boast that you are the number one player on the PGA Tour.

Tiger Woods comes into the playoffs with a 733 point lead over Matt Kuchar who is firmly entrenched in second place. 2012 FedEx Cup Champion, Brandt Snedeker is sitting in third place, 844 points behind Woods, with British Open Champion, Phil Mickelson in fourth place just ahead of 2011 Tour Champ, Bill Haas.

The playoffs begin this week at The Barclays, which is played at Liberty Country Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. It will move to The Deutsche Bank Championship next week at TPC Boston. The BMW Championship is the third stop at Conway Farms Golf Course in Lake Forest, Illinois with the Tour Championship finale’ at the East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta.

All tournaments have a total purse of $ 8 Million Dollars with the winner getting a check for $1.4 Million each. The FedEx Champion receives an additional $10 Million dollars.

Here are my five top picks to win it all in 2013.
