I know you’re wondering at this point, what I have been smoking this morning, but as Tim the tool man Taylor used to say on Tool Time “back the truck up”. I realize the youngster from Northern Ireland has had a season that everyone, including Rory himself wants to forget, but he looks to have his game kinda…back on track. McIlroy finished T8 at the PGA Championship, and I was impressed when early on, after drawing one in the water at the par five, knuckled down, and made a 15 foot putt to save bogey. Looked almost like the old Rory.

Rory McIlroy starts in 49th place 2282 points behind his buddy Tiger Woods, but need I remind you that the winner of each of the tournaments reward the winner with 2500 points. Rory won The Duetshe Bank and the BMW last year, and just came up short of a victory at East Lake that would have given him the only title he didn’t win in 2012.

If Rory can get hot on one of these courses he likes, like TPC Boston, he can quickly become a factor in this playoff.
