While the world, and Las Vegas has Tiger Woods as the favorite to win his third FedEx Cup this year, I still have some questions about Tiger’s golf game. He won five times this year, but four wins came on golf courses he owns. Only the Players win came at a venue that he has had less than stellar success. Tiger has only three victories in playoff competition, and two of those came in the first year of the event where he was able to win the BMW and Coco Cola in consecutive wins to end the 2007 season.

Tiger won only the BMW Championship in 2009 when he won his second large check. He lost in the finale’ at Atlanta to Phil Mickelson but was able log the FedEx win with the most points. He couldn’t beat Mickelson to sweep the final two tournaments like he had in 2007.

Tiger continues to struggle with his driver, where he has spells of spraying it all over the course. Unfortunately these golf courses have some length, and if he wants that third championship, will need to drive the ball with some confidence. His approach game is like a laser. If he can get to a position where he can get a wedge in his hand, his fortunes can change quickly.

Last but not least, Tiger is at last human, and has good days and bad days with the flat stick. If he can get to the greens with some consistency during the playoffs, and coax some putts in the hole, he has a better chance than anyone in the field to win it all. Sorry Ricky Potts…I don’t think it’s Tiger’s year.
