Dustin Johnson is a man of mystery to me. After coming close twice in 2010, one of the longer hitters on The PGA Tour can’t seem to get out of his own way. He was overwhelmed at Pebble Beach in 2010, but I think he got screwed at Whistling Straits.

He continues to get on leaderboards, and continues to find ways to shoot himself in the foot. His short game has always been a question mark for me to win a major, but his driver seems to keep him in competition.

Dustin has had a top ten finish in every major except the Masters where his best finish was a T13 in 2013. I don’t think he has the game, or patience he will need at Royal Liverpool, but do think he has the distance, and game to compete at Valhalla in August.

Ranked 15th in Official World Golf Rankings, and 4th in FedEx Cup standings, Dustin has another good season in the works. He has made 12 of 14 cuts in 2014, and picked up a win at the WGC-HSBC Champions back in November which was counted as part of the PGA Tour’s new Wrap-Around schedule.

I’m pulling for Dustin to get that first major this year, but at age 30, he is just hitting his prime, and he won’t have to face Tiger and Phil much longer, so maybe he will get one soon.
