The PGA Tour is in its off-season and to pass the time we’ve decided to make some predictions far out in advance for the upcoming 2014-2015 PGA Tour season. This week we are diving into the Florida swing and the Texas two-step portion of the PGA Tour Season. Also, if you’ve missed any of the other articles you can check those out here and here.

More from Golf News

February 23-March 1: Honda Classic

PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Winner: Rickie Fowler

Rickie Fowler had a fantastic season last year, the only thing missing from his resume was a win. It’s hard to believe that Fowler didn’t win considering he was in contention at just about every tournament he played down the stretch.

I see no reason why Fowler won’t continue to build on his stellar play last year, but this time he finds the winner’s circle at least once this year and I believe it will come at the Honda Classic.

Rickie Fowler has a real solid track record here at the PGA National Champions Course. This is one of the tournaments that he normally plays really well at and considering he’s a much player now, I believe it’s only fitting that he were to win here at PGA National.

March 2-8: WGC-Cadillac Championship

Trump National Doral, Doral, Florida

Winner: Graeme McDowell

Graeme McDowell has played extremely well at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and had no trouble adjusting to the newly Trump designed Doral last year. G-Mac finished T-4 last year and it’s hard to believe that G-Mac only has the two PGA Tour victories. He’s about due to pick up another PGA Tour win and the WGC-Cadillac Championship seems like the perfect place.

March 9-15: Valspar Championship

Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor, Florida

Winner: Greg Chalmers

The Valspar Championship is usually the tournament that takes a dip in terms of quality golfers, but it’s still very enjoyable nonetheless. As for the winner I’m going with Greg Chalmers. Chalmers is a very solid golfer who has had success here at Copperhead the last three years including a top five finish in 2013.

Also, if Greg Chalmers were to win it would be back-to-back for the Aussies as John Senden won the Valspar Championship last year.

March 16-22: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Bay Hill GC & Lodge, Orlando, Fla.

Winner: Henrik Stenson

Henrik Stenson has never missed the cut here at Bay Hil in six tries. Last year, Stenson finished in a tie for 5th. Stenson is a real horse for the course and should be one of the favorites at Bay Hill and much like G-Mac, Stenson is too good of a player to only have four PGA Tour wins in his career. He needs a couple of more on his resume and I think he gets a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

March 23-29: Valero Texas Open

TPC San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas

Winner: Jordan Spieth

After a very rough start to start his first round last year, Jordan Spieth – as he’s done some many times in his short career thus far – found a way to battle back, make the cut, and when it was all said and done he finished in the top ten. Spieth has an uncanny ability to do just battle back.

With that said, I like Spieth to win at the Texas Open. He’s from Texas and knows how to play in the Texas winds, I gotta believe he’ll eventually wind up winning a couple of these tournaments down in Texas. And I bring up last year just because he was feeling a lot of pressure. He was thrust more into that spotlight, more and more people came out to see him and he struggled. But, again, he bounced back and still finished in the top ten.

He has that experience and whatever pressure or nerves he felt last year won’t nearly be as prominent this year. I think this will be the year he wins his first tournament that takes place in the great state of Texas.

March 30-April 5: Shell Houston Open

Golf Club of Houston, Humble, Texas

Winner: Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley has found a nice fit down in Humble, Texas. Bradley has played the Houston Open the last four years, has made the cut all four years, and in 2011 and 2012 he finished T-10 and T-4. Bradley is another notable player that hasn’t lifted a trophy in awhile and I think he’s just due for a win.
