10. J.B Holmes

FedEx Cup Points: 1404

J.B. Holmes got himself inside the top 10 of the FedEx Cup rankings with a solid stretch of golf from the beginning of February through the end of March.

It all started at the Farmers Insurance Open where he finished in second place and then followed that up a week later with a tie for 10th at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. In March, Holmes picked up a solo second at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and then won the Shell Houston Open two weeks later.

Since then, Holmes has two top 10’s under his belt to help him hang around in the top 10 of the FedEx Cup standings. He has struggled in the bigger tournaments though. A missed cut at the Masters, followed by a decent showing at the U.S. Open to tie for 27th, and another missed cut most recently at The Open Championship.

However, J.B is currently 11th in the President’s Cup standings, so he’s going to need to have a strong finish to the season to ensure a spot on the United States roster. With the talented players still outside of the top 10, I don’t see Holmes being one of the two captain’s picks.
