8.) Patrick Reed

FedEx Points: 1,497

In 21 events this season, Patrick Reed has missed the cut in only two of them. His only win of the year came in January at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Add on to that a runner-up finish at the Valspar Championship (losing none other than Jordan Spieth), three top tens, and 12 top 25s.

He comfortably sits at sixth in the President’s Cup rankings. Whether you love him or you hate him, Reed is the kind of guy you want on your President’s Cup squad. Also known as the American Ian Poulter, Patrick is fierce and doesn’t back down to anyone.

Not to mention he’s REALLY good in match play. Teamed up with Spieth as a rookie in last year’s Ryder Cup, Reed had a 3-0-1 record and record 3.5 points for Team USA, the most of any player on the team. And don’t forget the time he had the cojones shush the European crowds at Gleneagles. That’s the type of energy you want on your President’s Cup team.

Reed is playing in the Omega European Masters this week, so he will not make any ground in the FedEx Cup rankings.
