FedEx Cup Points: 1,522

The 2015 Champion Golfer of the Year made a huge jump in the FedEx Cup standings. He grabbed 600 points with his first win of the season and jumped from the 31th to inside the top 10. Another reason for ZJ’s solid ranking is because of his eight top 10 finishes this year.

Johnson is a veteran when it comes to the Team USA golf. He’s played on the ’07, ’09, ’13 President’s Cup teams, which were all winning squads, as well as four Ryder Cup teams. His singles match play record comes to 12-14-1 and his team match play record is 10-9-1.

Coming off his unexpected win at The Open Championship, Johnson will have some confidence heading into the playoffs and he could make a run for the $10 million purse.

His game is in stellar shape and he’s peaking at the right time for the PGA Championship and the end of the year. Even his statistician Peter Saunders thinks so. Sanders sent Johnson this not before he headed across the pond for St. Andrews: ‘NO report needed. Zach should go to St. Andrews with the supreme confidence that all parts of his game are at their best.'”
