Starting this week you have the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, followed by the PGA Championship. After that you have the Wyndham Championship which isn’t a prestigious tournament, but it’s the last tournament before the FedEx Cup Playoffs start.
That’s where a lot of the golfers who have already qualified for the FedEx Cup Playoffs will rest up before kicking off the playoffs at The Barclays, but it’s always intriguing to see which players qualify and which players don’t.
To qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, golfers need to be 125th or better in the OWGR and the Wyndham Championship is very important for the golfers that are around that cut line.

Currently, we have some golfers such as: Charl Schwartzel, Graeme McDowell, and Martin Kaymer outside the top 125. We’ll see if they do enough in the next three weeks to get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
On the flipside, we have golfers like: Lee Westwood, Jamie Donaldson, and Jason Dufner that are just inside the top 125.
So, that’s something to watch for as well that makes this stretch really intriguing and enjoyable to watch.
Anyway, we kind of gone off on a bit of a tangent and you aren’t here for that. Let’s talk about the reason why you are here and that is for the 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Power Rankings.
As you might expect, this is a huge event – a WGC event – which brings out the very best of the best. So, the top ten this week will look pretty familiar to what you expect. Let’s kick things off with number one and I’m sure you can guess who that is.
Sergio Garcia has had a really fine season on the PGA Tour. A T-6 at The Open, T-25 at the Travelers, T-18 at the U.S. Open, and a T-2 at THE PLAYERS. Garcia’s game is on point, he doesn’t have a great history here at Firestone, but maybe that changes this week.
