Time to use his belly putter is running out, and Adam Scott is not taking advantage of this opportunity.
Scott finished day one with an ugly +4 on 76 strokes. He actually got off to a great start, getting a birdie on the first two holes, but he couldn’t carry the momentum onto the back nine. Over the last seven holes, he racked up two bogies and one double-bogie.
Scott, who entered Whistling Straits as the No. 11 ranked golfer in the world, has two top-10 finishes in majors this year, and was looking to recreate that success.
