Day has quietly been one of the hottest golfers in the PGA this season, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be cooling down anytime soon.

Day had a great first day, finishing -4 on 68 strokes. Through 18 holes, Day collected three birdies, one eagle and only one bogie. With him only being two strokes behind the lead, Day has a legitimate chance to pull off his first major victory of his career.
Day entered Thursday as the No. 4 ranked golfer in the world, and was tied for second with eight top-10 finishes this season. Another impressive performance here at Whistling Straits, would solidify Day’s ranking as the fourth best golfer in the world.
