Best – Justin Rose

Justin Rose has been one of the best golfers on TOUR this season and his showings at the majors prove it. His best showing came at the Masters where he tied for 2nd and if it wasn’t for that Jordan Spieth kid, Rosey probably could have grabbed a green jacket.

Rose shot a 67 in his third round at Augusta which consisted of five birdies on the back nine, including four in a row. His round was good enough for tie for the low round of the day, but Spieth was still four shots ahead of anyone and wasn’t slowing down. The Englishman would finish tied for second and used that confidence to win his next event at the Zurich Classic.

Rose’s worst major outing of the season was still a top 30 finish and it came at Chambers Bay where he tied for 27th. He simply couldn’t get anything going at the U.S. Open and packed his bags for St. Andrews hoping to get his hands on the Claret Jug.

After a slow start with an opening round 71, Justin’s performance improved throughout the week. He’d finish tied for sixth, four shots off the lead, but was still the best finish in his career at The Open since he was the low amateur in 1998.

Rosey entered Whistling Straits with plenty of confidence knowing that he could compete in majors and he had yet, another impressive showing.

He got into contention early and stayed within at least three strokes of the lead throughout the week. Unfortunately, a bogey and double bogey plagued his back nine and he finished with a 2-under 70, while Jason Day had his foot on the gas pedal. Rose placed in solo fourth to end his impressive major season that included three top 10 finishes.

The Englishman’s combined score for the major season was -34, which was the best of any golfer not to win in the last 30 years.
