5. Brandt Snedeker

Brandt Snedeker has been plagued with nagging injuries throughout his career. That has kept him from realizing his full potential, but even with that, Snedeker has had an accomplished career.

Snedeker has won seven times on the PGA Tour, including at the Farmers Insurance Open in 2015 which kind of marked Snedeker’s return as one of your better players on Tour.

Plus, in 2012, Snedeker won the FedEx Cup and has finished inside the top ten seven times in his career at the majors.

  • Snedeker is still currently a world class golfer and now that he is healthy he could potentially win a major or move up and take the mantle as the best golfer without a major in the near future.

Which, again, would be good for Snedeker as his game would be trending in the right direction, but he still wouldn’t have a major to show for it.

He has finished inside the top ten in at least one of the majors over the last four years. That may very well extend next year.

Like Westwood, next year’s course set up at the majors does suit Snedeker’s game. Snedeker is a grinding type golfer which is typically why he has played well at U.S. Open’s in his career.

That’s where I see the major coming from Snedeker next year. Either at the U.S. Open or The Open Championship.

Oakmont and Royal Troon are suited to Snedeker and with what Snedeker did for Tom Watson at this year’s Open Championship; maybe the golf gods will reward Snedeker with the Claret Jug next year.
