3. Henrik Stenson

Henrik Stenson is such a superb striker of the ball, he hits it so far, and is so accomplished as a golfer that it bothers me that he hasn’t won a major championship yet.

Stenson is just one of those guys where he is so good that he should have a major on his resume.

Stenson had such a scorching hot 2013 I wish he would have won The Open or the PGA Championship that year.

Stenson came close finishing 2nd and T-3, but just a little short. However, he did go on to win both the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai on both the PGA and European Tour. That 2013 was one of the best years a golfer has had in recent memory.

As far as the majors are concerned, the unfortunate thing is that time is running out on Stenson. Stenson will be 40 years old by the time The Masters rolls around next year.

Plus, Stenson didn’t perform very well at the majors this year. Stenson was sick, but still ended up finishing T-19 at The Masters. At the U.S. Open he led after the first round, but fell off to finish T-27.

The Open Championship at St. Andrews and the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits both were suited to Stenson’s game, but he only managed a T-40 and T-25. This year really set up for Stenson to breakthrough, but it just never happened.

In the next couple of years I wouldn’t expect Stenson to be apart of the conversation anymore because he’ll have either won a major or he just won’t be good enough to warrant discussion anymore. More than likely, he just won’t be good enough, unfortunately.

Stenson is like Westwood at this point in his career. Westwood is slowly creeping his way down the list and Stenson is on that same trajectory as well.
