Solheim Cup Smack Talk (Video)
Catriona Matthew, who’s in the bubble for Team Europe’s 2015 Solheim Cup roster, has publicly predicted a close competition this year. The Americans are coming to St Leon-Rot, Matthew shared with the Ladies European Tour, “desperate to win but I think we will win.” Suzann Pettersen went further. She’s predicting a two point spread for the European victory.
Earlier this month, as a wrap-up to the RICOH Women’s British Open, Captain Carin Koch bundled up Team Europe’s top candidates and took them on a field trip to St Leon-Rot for a preliminary look at the venue and a practice round, something the Americans haven’t done, although they have had dinner with President George W. Bush!

The Americans, who currently have a slight edge if you believe the oddsmakers, are coming to Germany and this year’s competition carrying the burden of two consecutive losses. Potential team members have been more circumspect with their smack talk, but the Legends, who cherish and relish their own Solheim Cup memories, are more than willing to share them:
