At a moment in women’s pro golf that seems to be dominated by teen phenoms, we need to remember that 27-year old Morgan Pressel is playing her 10th year on the Tour.  As a 12-year old Pressel became the youngest player to qualify for the 2001 US Women’s Open, a record that stood until 2007 when Lexi Thompson edged her out by several months. Ranked 24th by Rolex, Pressel has only two wins on her resume, one of them the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship.  But Pressel plays a solid, steady game and consistently gets in the mix at the top of the leaderboard, at evidenced by her 56 career top-10 finishes.  Six of those top-10s have come this year. What she lacks in distance off the tee Pressel makes up for in accuracy and ranks second to Stacy Lewis on Team USA in putting accuracy. This will be Pressel’s 5th Solheim Cup appearance.  With a 1-3-0 record in 2013 — her worst-ever Solheim Cup performance — Pressel has something to prove this year.
