Captain Carin Koch and her vice-captains, Annika Sorenstam, Sophie Gustafson and Maria Hjorth McBride are tasked with guiding twelve European players to their third consecutive victory at the 2015 Solheim Cup.  It’s no small task.

Collectively Team Europe’s management team has made 25 Solheim Cup appearances and despite the fact that Captain Koch lost her 2003 singles match to Captain Inkster 5 & 4, the Europeans’ reservoir of match play wisdom will run deep when they tee it up at St Leon-Rot next month.

  • The Europeans will be represented a very balanced team of experienced players.  Koch elected to pass over several rookie candidates for Team Europe in favor of players who have demonstrated their match play prowess.  Given the intensity with which Team USA will approach this year’s competition, Team Europe wants to launch their defense from a position of strength and this team is bulging with power.

Captain Koch has described Team Europe as a “team of stars” with a dynamic mixture of youth and age and some natural pairings that are certain to figure in the four ball and foursomes matches as Team Europe attempts a hat trick that will block the American charge.
