Karine Icher launched her pro golf career on the Ladies European Tour in 2000 with two wins, the Palmerston Ladies German Open and the Mexx Sport Open and finished her rookie year in second place for the LET Rookie of the Year award behind her Solheim Cup teammate, Suzann Pettersen.

Icher joined the LPGA Tour in 2003 and has put five victories across tours on her resume over the course of her career.

Although 57th ranked Icher’s game is a little soft on the putting surface — she’s averaging 30.38 putts per round this season — we got a glimpse at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open of how robust she can be in competition, a demonstration that couldn’t have escaped Captain Koch’s notice as she was making her wild card picks for Team Europe’s last four slots.

Icher’s match play experience runs deep and includes both amateur and professional competitions.  In 2006 Icher represented France at the World Cup and has twice played for Europe at the Solheim Cup (2002, 2013).

Look for Icher to be a solid team player in both four ball and foursomes.  Suzann Pettersen is a likely playing partner.  Their games complement each other.
