Caroline Masson has been working hard to make the 2015 Solheim Cup team. She’s made no secret of the fact that she wants to be a part of this year’s event and help Team Europe defend.
And although Captain Koch passed over a pair of English players who might edge Masson out by the numbers, I’m thinking Masson was a solid pick for the team.
Before she turned pro in 2009 Masson twice played for the Europeans on their Junior Solheim Cup team and represented Germany in the World Amateur Team Championship. She advanced to the match play level at the British Ladies Amateur and won the German Match Play Championship.
This will be Masson’s second Solheim Cup appearance. She lost her 2013 singles match to Lexi Thompson. Perhaps they’ll have the opportunity for a rematch at St. Leon-Rot this year.
