2015 Solheim Cup Team Europe (Video)
One of the young guns in women’s golf, Charley Hull cut her teeth chewing up Paula Creamer at the 2013 Solheim Cup and then spitting her out. It was hard not to fall in love with the 17-year old Charley Hull when she teed it up for her Solheim Cup debut at Colorado Golf Club. She’d turned pro six months earlier and despite her enormous promise nobody, including Hull, knew quite what to expect.
Hull recently recalled that week for the Ladies European Tour:
"“I didn’t really feel nervous. It’s only a game after all. I just went out there, smashed some balls and played golf.”"
And play golf she did, leaving the home-town crowd in Colorado not quite certain whether they should laugh or cry as Hull bested The Pink Panther and then asked for her autograph. Hull’s had two years on the pro circuit since then and although she hasn’t piled up the high finishes and victories that 2013 start might have suggested, she’s bringing a solid, powerful game to Germany.
I’m looking for her to rise to the occasion and meet the challenge the Americans are certain to mount.
