Sandra Gal is a golfer, a violinist, has been trained in ballet and is an occasional fashion model. Ranked 43rd by Rolex, Gal’s golf swing is an exercise in grace and balance.
Gal played collegiate golf for the Florida Gators, then turned pro in 2007 mid-way through her collegiate career, joining the Ladies European Tour and then qualifying for the LPGA Tour. She earned her only pro victory to date in 2011 at the Kia Classic.
By the numbers Gal has a stronger game than her overall record would suggest. Her 2011 Solheim Cup performance was unimpressive, but she’s had four years to develop her game, and this year she’ll be playing on home soil.
Look for Sandra Gal to figure prominently in Team Europe’s overall performance this year.
