The FedEx Cup Playoffs are officially here and while it’s sad to see the season coming to a close, there’s still plenty of great golf ahead of us. The beautiful thing about the next couple of weeks is that any of the 125 golfers can come away with the FedEx Cup.

For those unaware with the playoff format, the tournaments consist of the Barclays, Deutsche Bank Championship, BMW Championship and the TOUR Championship. The Playoffs start with the top 125 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings competing at the Barclays this week. After each week, the field is cut down from the top 125 to 100 for the Deutsche Bank Championship, 7o players for the BMW Championship, and the top 30 for the TOUR Championship.
With the points resetting for the TOUR Championship, the key to winning the FedEx Cup is all about who can play the best golf for three weeks in a row.
Jordan Spieth is entering the Barclays as the heavy favorite at 3/2 to win the whole thing and a commanding 1,710 point lead ahead of the next golfer, which is Jason Day. Unfortunately for the Golden Child, no player since Tiger Woods in 2009 has entered the race first on the points list and come out with the $10,000,000.
The favorites in the field don’t normally come away with the FedEx Cup, so with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the more unexpected outcomes that could arise in the next three weeks. Put on your seat belts, boys and girls, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Brooks Koepka Will Win the FedEx Cup

Brooks Koepka has been one of the hottest golfers on TOUR this season and his game has never looked stronger entering the playoffs. He currently sits at 12th on the FedEx Cup standings and even though it’s his first playoff appearance, it’s going to be one to remember.
Koepka picked up the first TOUR win of his career earlier this season at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Following his win, he quieted down for his next few events, but he peaked for major season.

His worst finish came at the Masters where he tied for 18th, but bounced back with a T-18 at the U.S. Open and only improved from there. He cracked the top 10 in his final two majors with a T-10 at The Open Championship and a T-6 at the PGA Championship.
His last three events has resulted in no worse than a tie for sixth, proving he’s in prime form. Brooksie is one of the longest hitters on TOUR coming in ranked at seventh and he cracks the top ten in greens in regulation, two of the most important stats associated with winning golf tournaments.
His length will especially come into play at a long course like Plainfield Country Club.
Koepka has been knocking on the door of a breakthrough and I think he gets it here in the postseason. He’s playing incredibly consistent golf as of late, which will get him through to the TOUR Championship. Once the final tournament arrives, Brooks will be ready for a win.
Danny Lee Will Win One of the Four Tournaments

America’s number one bachelor, Danny Lee, has been on fire as of late. It started at the Greenbrier Classic where he got the first win of his young career on TOUR.
Following his win, he was asked about winning at Greenbrier:
"“It was just amazing. It’s phenomenal. It’s my fourth time playing here, and I liked it every single year. Only one wish I had was if I had a girlfriend, it wouldn’t be as lonely in the room.”"
After that, his good buddy and fellow TOUR golfer Pat Perez started a campaign to find him a girlfriend.
Still no word on the girlfriend, but since the Greenbrier Lee has been playing on another level. He’s placed at least tied for sixth in three of his last five events, which includes a tie for sixth at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Danny enters the Barclays 10th in the FedEx Cup standings and is still playing confidently since his first win last month. Not only is he playing with confidence, but he’s showing it. When asked about his chances of winning the Cup,
"“I know it’s not going to be easy but I have a feeling that if I just do what I’ve been doing I’ll have a good chance and hopefully I can make it happen.”"
Justin Rose Will Place Top 10 in Every Event

Probably one of the most consistent golfers on TOUR, Rosey has everything it takes to win the FedEx Cup, but most definitely place in the top 10 for every tournament.
Rose has played some of the best golf at the highest levels this season, having the best results of any golfer at the majors, unless your name is Jordan Spieth.

The Englishman’s combined score for the major season was -34, which was the best of any golfer not to win in the last 30 years. He tied for second at the Masters, T-27 at the U.S. Open, sixth at The Open Championship, and was solo fourth at the PGA Championship.
Of his 16 events this year, Rose has placed top 10 in seven them. Not to mention he has done no worse than a tie for sixth in five of his last six tournaments, three of which were either a WGC event or a major.
He’s playing great golf against the top fields in the world as he enters the FedEx Cup Playoffs and there is no reason his next three weeks can’t be like his last two months. He will be in contention in every tournament in these playoffs and crack the top ten each week.
