Stacy Lewis has made a habit of collecting 2nd place finishes this year.  Four of her 11 top-10 finishes have been runner-ups.  She lost the Honda LPGA Thailand to Amy Yang by two shots.  The Founders Cup slipped through her fingers by three shots, going to Hyo Joo Kim.  Getting closer, she lost the ANA Inspiration to Brittany Lincicome in a playoff and then the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open to Lydia Ko in another playoff.

  • Stacy Lewis is a superb golfer.  She’s not particularly long off the tee but she ranks 13th on the Tour in accuracy.  She spends a good deal more time in the short grass than in the rough.  She ranks 8th in GIR and in putting average (29.07 putts per round).  And she leads the Tour in putts per GIR (1.74).  In other words, Lewis has a killer of a short game in her bag!

This is Lewis’s 7th Evian Championship appearance.  She’s twice finished runner-up (2011, to Karrie Webb, and 2012, to Inbee Park).  She wants a 2015 victory and nothing would please her more than to outplay Inbee Park.  She has the technical game to do that, so for Lewis much will hinge on the strength of her mental game.
