When Suzann Pettersen won The Evian in 2013 she wrapped herself in the Norwegian flag and took a glorious victory lap around the 18th green!  Could she do it again?  Why not?  Unless you’re superstitious.  This will be Pettersen’s 13th Evian start.

  • Sixth ranked Pettersen is having a strong season.  With six top-10 finishes that include a win at the Manulife LPGA Classic, Pettersen’s clearly playing at the top of the board.

Pettersen’s weakness is her putting — she’s averaging 30+ putts per round this season and ranks 79th on the Tour.  But Pettersen knows the Evian track at least as well as the majority of the field, and she doesn’t have anything to prove.  She’s already won this championship.  She’s coming in relaxed and, like Melissa Reid, enveloped by the high energy of her Solheim Cup teammates.

Suzann Pettersen will be in contention just because she’s a fine golfer playing on a track she knows well under near-ideal mental conditions.
