  • Henderson’s almost year-long saga to gain official status on the LPGA Tour has been well documented.  She turned pro at 16, certainly not entirely unprecedented, but also not without complications.  She’s spent the 2015 season working several different strategies to play her way onto the LPGA Tour, a goal she achieved with her Cambia Portland Classic victory in August.

This will be Brooke Henderson’s third major competition.  As a 16-year old she made the cut and finished 26th at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship and this year she made the cut and finished 61st at the RICOH Women’s British Open.

Will she deliver a stronger performance playing from the more secure status she’s earned in the last month?  I’m thinking she will.  She’ll be teeing it up at Evian-les-Bains ranked 17th in the world by Rolex.  She has a solid, accurate drive, she gets to 82% of the greens in regulation, and she’s averaging 1.85 putts per GIR.

The oddsmakers have Henderson in the mix and so do I.
