Wayne Gretzky is the future father-in-law of PGA TOUR golfer Dustin Johnson, who dates the Great One’s daughter, Paulina Gretzky. Wayne and DJ have been seen on multiple occasions enjoying time on the golf course. In fact, they were grouped with Jordan Spieth and singer Jake Owen at this year’s AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

In 2010, Gretzky was one of the few to shoot 100 in the Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge, where celebrities played from the tips at Pebble Beach.

The Great One described how he got started with the game of golf to GolfDigest.com:

"I was introduced to golf the same way as everybody else, probably. A relative came by with a set of clubs and said, “Here you go.” I was 15 and never gave a thought then to the fact that they were right-handed clubs. I wish I’d have learned as a left-handed player. I probably would have been a better player, because I feel more natural that way. I hit balls left-handed on the range from time to time and probably hit the ball better from that side. But I don’t have the time or energy to switch at this point. So the game never came easy to me. It still doesn’t."

Gretzky often gets tips from fellow Canadian golfer and 2003 Masters winner Mike Weir. Wayne has a great appreciation for Weir and what he’s done to help the game grow in Canada.
