The ESPN sportscaster known for his famous calls at the Home Run Derby has been covering golf for close to 30 years. He’s been playing the game for 25 years and claims to have a handicap of 16.

Boomin’ Berman says he plays two or three times a week when he goes on vacation and once or twice a week when it’s warm up in Connecticut where he’s stationed. Once the football season starts however, his schedule begins to fill up.

The anchor belongs to The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut, but says one of his favorite courses in that area is the TPC at River Highlands, home of Travelers Championship

Berman used to cover the U.S. Open for ESPN, but called his last round back in 2014. While he may have the voice for football and baseball season, but it’s no place for the golf course and he finally got the boot.
