PGA TOUR Golfers Had a Busy Bye Week
By Matt Cochran
The PGA TOUR took a break this past week and while it’s cruel and unusual punishment for fans of the game, it’s a chance for the golfers to regroup and get their game in order for a chance at $10 million. It seems that the guys really enjoyed themselves during their “down time”.

If you didn’t happen to catch what Jordan Spieth was up to in his downtime, I’ll give you a brief runthrough. He spent his time at his Alma mater attending the Longhorns home opener.
Spieth was decked out in the Green Jacket and cradled the U.S. Open trophy at the 50-yard line and then enjoyed the game in a box with Ben Crenshaw. Oh, and the University of Texas band spelled his name on the field at halftime.

Spieth didn’t stop the party in Austin. He made his way back to Dallas on Sunday to enjoy the Cowboys thrilling comeback over the Giants at Jerry’s World. However, if you weren’t paying you may have missed the two-time major winner.
Cameras found a luxury box during the first half of the game and there sat 14-time major winner Tiger Woods. Tiger was also seen at the US Open earlier in the week with his daughter, but he missed out on the playoffs so he’s got free time to spare.
NBC must have thought that Jordan’s two majors weren’t up to par because they failed to mention that he was at the game too…STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM.
The two were in Tony Romo’s suite and Tiger later got a ride home from Romo after the game. Spieth on the other hand probably took the bus home.
While that party was happening down in Dallas, my man Pat Perez was out having a quick pitstop in Las Vegas. Perez was in attendance for the Mayweather-Berto fight with his wife and fellow TOUR golfer Scott Piercy.
If you aren’t already following Perez on Instagram, then you should probably do that after you get done reading this article.

Last year’s FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel must still be a little hungover from his $10 million because he has has been less than stellar.
This bye week may be an opportunity for him to regain his focus so he can defend his title in the final two events. He couldn’t make it out to see his Alma mater play, so he watched some Gator football in bed.

Sergio Garcia didn’t really need a break seeing as how he skipped the first two playoff events, but he too was busy. While all of these guys enjoyed other sporting events, the Spaniard was busy with a photo shoot dressed as non-other than James Bond.
What about that kid who just won the Deutsche Bank Championship? Rickie Fowler also found his way onto a football field this past week, only his was in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Fowler attended the Oklahoma State game to celebrate his fresh playoff victory. He met up with Brooklyn Nets guard and fellow Cowboy Markel Brown.
Now that the party’s over, the guys make their way to Conway Farms outside of Chicago for the BMW Championship. Jason Day enters the third leg of the playoffs first on the FedEx Cup standings. It seems Day stayed focused with his downtime.
"“I feel refreshed,” he said. “I feel good. I know that I just have to suck it up for the next two weeks and just go out and play as hard as I can.”"
The Aussie not only has his eyes on the number one ranking in the world, but he’s also gunning for that FedEx Cup as well. He could be the one to catch in the final two weeks of this PGA TOUR season.
