#39: Ian Poulter–Ever the entertainer, this Englishman plays his best on the world’s biggest stages, and with a pair of WGCs and one of the best Ryder Cup records of all time under his belt, it shows. Always better on the European Tour (he was the Rookie of the Year back in 2000) than on the PGA, Poulter has just one stateside victory to his name, but 12 additional victories on the former circuit help to offset that. His solid major performance–eight top 10s, including a solo second at the 2008 Open Championship–helps to solidify his status as a top 40 player of the Tiger Woods era.
