#35: Miguel Angel Jimenez–This Spaniard is commonly referred to as “The Most Interesting Man in Golf,” but unfortunately, Jimenez’s career would have been a lot more interesting had he done just a little bit better in the majors. His 21 European Tour victories are impressive, but a tie for second at the 2000 U.S. Open, a tie for third at the 2001 Open Championship and a solo fourth at last year’s Masters remain the closest he’s come to any of golf’s four crown jewels. Ultimately, it is Jimenez’s longevity that has allowed him to become so iconic. That earns him points, but not nearly as many as he would get if he’d won, say, a green jacket. At 51 years of age, it would appear that his window has closed.
