Top 50 Golfers of the Tiger Woods Era
By Sam Belden
#48: Robert Karlsson–When you think of this Swede, you probably think of his surprising 2008 season, a couple of Ryder Cups and just the mid-to-late-2000s pro golf zeitgeist in general–gets you pretty nostalgic. Karlsson was basically a rank-and-file European Tour member for much of the early part of his career. That changed in 2006, when he won a pair of events and found himself on his first Ryder Cup squad. Things got even better two years later–Karlsson won another pair of events, racked up eight top three finishes in total and wound up winning the European Tour’s Order of Merit. Beyond a trio of top 10s that year, he never really did much in the majors, but Karlsson’s 11 career victories are enough to land him on this list, albeit in its lower depths.
