Most Embarrassing Moment
Zach Johnson – John Deere Classic
It wouldn’t be hard to give this to Dustin Johnson for blowing that three-footer on the 72nd hole of the U.S. Open, so I’ll spare DJ. For this award, we go back to the John Deere Classic and an incident Zach Johnson had outside of his hometown.
Zach was on the par 3 16th hole of his final round when he was getting ready to have a go for birdie. The 16th hole is located right along a river with boat traffic riding along it all day. During his backstroke, some jackass on the river fired an air cannon and scurried off.
Unfortunately for ZJ, he had no idea it was coming and nearly soiled himself.
Of course there were plenty of embarrassing moments on TOUR this season, making it difficult to choose from all of them. In that regard, here is a close runner-up.
Big John Daly was on the par-3 7th hole at the PGA Championship located at Whistling Straits. After hitting not one, not two, but three balls into the drink, the two-time major winner finally got one on the green.
Out of frustration, Daly tossed his club into beautiful Lake Michigan. Stay classy, JD.
