Jason Day–Despite his best efforts, this Aussie was never able to catch up with Spieth this year, getting to five wins but winning just one major, the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. That total easily could have been stretched to two, though–remember his gutsy vertigo-affected performance at the U.S. Open?Day’s 2015 was just as career-changing as Spieth’s. On January 1 of this year, he was a two-time PGA Tour winner and the owner of a ton of major scar tissue; now, he’s got seven victories under his belt, including one of the big four. His recent late-season run of four wins in six starts, including a major and two playoff events, was truly amazing stuff, the closest that anyone came to a Woodsian performance all year. Grade: A+
