Zach Johnson–The 2015 performances of Spieth and McIlroy were so dominant and so impressive that it’s almost easy to forget about this season’s other major winner: Johnson. As has happened in the past, it took some time for the Georgia resident to heat up, but once his game started to improve, he was able to ride a wave that culminated with edging Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman in a playoff at St Andrews for his second major title. The Open Championship and the John Deere Classic were the only events in which Johnson seriously contended this season, but because he put himself in the elite company of multi-major winners, it’s hard to grade his campaign as anything other than exemplary. Grade: A
