Danny Willett has a chance to leapfrog Rory McIlroy for the number one spot on the Race to Dubai standings.
Yes, McIlroy was hurt for a good portion of the year and wasn’t able to rack up the Race to Dubai points, however, that doesn’t discount the fact that Willett is having a really strong year.
After competing at The Open Championship and finishing T-6, Willett followed that up by winning the Omega European Masters, finishing T-17 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, T-54 at the PGA Championship and just recently finished T-3 at the Open D’Italia.
Willett is in pretty strong form and should be in contention this week at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
