If the past is a good predictor of the future I’m expecting some hot action at the 2015 HanaBank Championship.  Last year KLPGA Tour member Kyu Jung Baek made her very first appearance in an LPGA Tour event at the KEB-HanaBank Championship and she defeated fellow KLPGA Tour member In Gee Chun — who went on to win the 2015 US Women’s Open this year — and five-time LPGA Tour winner Brittany Lincicome in an edge-of-the-seat playoff.

The HanaBank is worth watching just to see who’s coming through the professional pipeline from the KLPGA.  With Inbee Park, So Yeon Ryu, Chella Choi, K. Baek and In Gee Chun all likely to be in the field, this one could involve a Korean sweep.  Or, with Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Lexi Thompson, Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer also likely contenders, it could be a Solheim Cup reprise.

However the field shakes out, the Jack Nicklaus-designed Sky 72 Golf Club Ocean Course at Incheon is certain to challenge the field.  The track will play 6,364 and promises wind and plenty of hazards to challenge the Tour’s best players.
