Presidents Cup: Head-to-Head Roster Breakdowns
By Sam Belden
Less than two days remain between now and the start of the 2015 Presidents Cup. If you’re a match play fan like me, you probably can’t stand to wait a second longer, but the light at the end of the tunnel is fast approaching.

It’s no secret that Team USA has dominated the biennial competition over the years. The Americans have won eight out of ten Presidents Cups, lost only once and tied Team International in 2003. For all of the complaining that Americans do about their country’s Ryder Cup performance, we’re a more daunting adversary for Team International than Team Europe is for us.
Once again, Team USA is favored to win this week, but Captain Nick Price’s Team International roster is an interesting one. While it is admittedly top-heavy, that might be all he needs–as long as some of the lower-tier players pull their weight, it’s a credible, potentially winning lineup. American captain Jay Haas should feel the pressure.
Even so, we’ve yet to take a good look at every player in the event this week. In this slideshow, we’ll compare each spot each lineup–so, the No. 1 qualifier from Team USA against the No. 1 from Team International, No. 2 against No. 2 and so on–to get a rough idea of which is the stronger squad. Because of the luck of the match-ups, it’s an imperfect system, but it should help shed some light on just how close the competition could be come Sunday.
