No. 9: Chris Kirk/Thongchai Jaidee–Kirk, the last automatic qualifier for Team USA, is lucky to be making the trip to South Korea. After sustaining a wrist injury after the U.S. Open, he was on the mend for two months, and in three starts since his return at the Barclays, his best result has been a tie for 29th at the Deutsche Bank, where he was the defending champ. Surprisingly, however, he remained just inside of the points bubble, largely because most of the other suitors failed to make a move down the stretch. Jaidee, who will be first Thai player in Presidents Cup history, is coming off of a thrilling win at the Porsche European Open–he and Spieth will be the only ones to carry that kind of momentum to Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. As both will be first-timers to international match play competition, current form is our main measurement in this matchup. Advantage: Team International
